Tuesday is traditionally the day we realtors, in Portland, go on a broker tour and today I went on a progressive tour in the Marshall Wells condo lofts. The name, broker tour, comes from the practice of realtors with new listings, new homes to promote, have them open for all realtors to preview unencumbered; no calls necessary, no appointment needed. We pile into our cars and drive around the city streets for about 3 hours. These opens are often hosted by the listing agent and food is often served ( in order to get our sometimes lazy butts out of the office ). The fact is, many realtors will only tour if there is food! Others will tour if they have a potential listing in that price range and area, if they are trying to “comp” a potential listing. I tour because I want to know what’s out there and it helps me know the market just a little better. Besides, it’s my frackin job! Anyway, I saw some interesting what I call real estate details while on tour yesterday and wanted to share them with you in this photo gallery. The first picture is of the cage lights which I adore. These were standard issue as a part of the conversion. The next picture is of a view from one of the penthouses that over looks a parking structure. You would never know how decorative it is unless you could somehow get above it to see it. Then obviously the next shot is of a staircase in the same penthouse and lastly, a picture of Mick Jagger painted by Ron Wood. I love the Stones!
