For anyone looking to buy a condo for sale in the Marshall Wells Lofts you may be wondering where to buy groceries. There are six choicesofgrocery stores within just a few blocks. The closest is Safeway, kitty-corner to the Marshall Wells. I don’t think i need to go into details; everybody knows what Safeway is about. But what’s great about this one is the wine guy. Very knowledgeable! Wine prices are affordable, and the selection has breadth and depth!
Little Green Grocer. Five blocks from the Marshall Wells. This tiny packs a big punch. the owners are super friendly provide yummy owner made dishes; soups, dips, sandwiches and grains. A great place for that last minute shopping item you forgot to get at the bigger store.
Another big box approach is Fred Meyer. It’s approximately fourteen blocks from the Marshall Wells. It’s a Portland institution and are really the big box approach. Not only can you buy groceries, and they do have a fairly decent selection of organic and natural foods, but you can buy practically anything you need to furnish/decorate/repair you home. Need clothes too? Fred Meyer.
What would we do without Trader Joe’s? A mere seven blocks from the Marshall Wells. Just like any grocery store except that it has a lot of items that are ridiculously cheap. A lot of healthy and gourmet at a great price. A good mix between gourmet grocery and health food.
My all time favorite is City Market NW. Can you say “eye candy”? Just nine blocks from the Marshall Wells. For starters, this place is so beautiful.Everything is strikingly arranged. The produce looks like a “still life.” It’s also the last of the “neighborhood grocery stores.” Operating as a co-op, it features three great stores in one: Pastaworks, Viande Meats, and Newmans Fish Market. Fabulous produce, cheeses, salumi, vinegars, and wine. It’s like stepping into a European market. If you have extra money to burn on fabulous food stuff, this is the place to go!
Food Front Co-Op. Eighteen blocks from Marshall Wells. Yummy yogurts, great bulk foods selection. Lots of fresh made and in a killer vegan deli case! A little spendy but oh so good and good for you.
Whole Foods.A super behemoth of a grocery that some say is the “grandaddy” of all “natural food markets.” It is revered as the Jewel of the Pearl. If you can’t find it there, you probably won’t find it anywhere.
Zupan’s has some of the best service in all of the grocery stores. There is a wine steward on hand seven days a week for help in picking out the best vintage for your meal. Also an exceptional array of food and drink. Consistently exceptional service. Zupans is not a Safeway or Fred Meyer. This is local and a Portland tradition! Only 16 blocks from the Marshall Wells Lofts.
